On Sunday, there was a lot of love and joy in a room at
Norris Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles as so many gathered to celebrate Flynn
Robinson’s birthday. Robinson played on the 1972 World Championship team that
won 33 games in a row making sports history for the longest professional sports
team consecutive game winning streak.
Robinson is continuing his battle with multiple myeloma, which affects the bones and blood. Prior to his illness, Robinson was very active in getting children out on fishing and whale watching trips with Phil Friedman Outdoors Youth. At the party Robinson said he would get better and he would get back out on the water with a group of children.
“Getting kids out on the water means more to Flynn than anything,” said former UCLA great and Laker World Champion Keith Erickson. “That’s all he would talk about,” said Lucius Allen who was on the UCLA championships teams in 1967 and 1968. “He lives for those trips.”
Of course there was some basketball talk too. Allen said he would pull a $100 bill out of his pocket at his youth events and challenge anyone to beat Robinson from the free throw line. Nobody ever beat him.

Flynn Robinson played for the Casper Wyoming Junior college and led the to the Junior College National Championship. He is still the greatest basketball player ever to plan in Casper.He was just as kind back them and he will be greatly missed
