Morgon Richards caught a 13-pound yellowtail on board the 3/4 dy Tradition out of Redondo Sportfishing giving rise to hopes that more surface action might be on the way. The first yellowtail on the Tradition was taken last month but since that time, surface action haas been slow.
There have been periods of excellent barracuda action, some big halibut and even some calico bass fishing. But surface bites have been short lived with many boats resorting to summertime rockfishing.
Many are hoping that this yellowtail is the first of many more to come. Only time will tell.
