Patrick Basler just returned from an awesome fishing adventure to San Quintin, Baja California Norte.
Basler who will be on the new BAJA NOW Radio Show this Thursday at 9:30pm said it was excellent fishing for big yellowtail, tons of calico and sand bass, big lingcod and all the rockfish you could want along with yellowfin tuna and dorado.
"Thank you Baja," said Basler. "What a great fishing trip." Basler drove the approximately 140-miles south and said the roads were in perfect condition. "The roads are better here than they are in the US," said Basler.
Yellowtail to 40-pounds were biting with reckless abandon with evidence of more and more yellowfin tuna moving up too. "It's a case of not knowing what to fish for," said Basler. "There are just too many good options."
There is great coastal action, San Martin Island is excellent and the offshore scene is equally robust. "We have coolers full of fresh fish and the people of Baja just couldn't have been any nicer."
In addition, surf-fishing has also been excellent with barred perch, halibut, corbina biting too.
